Title: Are you from Kitakyushu? Signature game

Description: Give students the handout and ask them to write their name and class. Demonstrate with the JTE – Say ‘Hello!’ and do rock, paper, scissors. The winner asks a question. If the answer is yes, the person asking the question gets a signature from their partner. If they answer is no, say ‘Goodbye!’ and find another partner. Practice the questions on the handout with students and confirm they understand the meaning. Set a timer and have students walk around the room asking questions and receiving signatures from their classmates. Once the time is up, students sit down. Ask the class who got the most signatures. Students who received nine signatures get stickers. As a follow up, students write ‘I am’ sentences about themselves using the information on the handout.   Comments/Variations: Rather than have students walk freely around the classroom, ask students to make rows with their desk so they are facing their partner. Set a timer for each student to ask their partner a question. Once the time is up, one row moves down one seat so that they have a new partner. Repeat. Depending on the class level, ask students to make their own questions rather than providing them.
