Unit: 11 Grammar Point: Past Tense Length: 35-50 minutes |
Title: Past Tense Jeopardy Review |
Description: Review for past tense. Works very similar to American Jeopardy. First, split the students into teams. (it works best with 5 or 6 groups) Use the chalk board to keep track of points. The teams compete for points and the team with the most points wins. (You can have your JTE keep score) The activity is broken into categories: Word change, Make it past tense, Is this correct, Everyday questions, Ask me a question, and Make a sentence. Make sure you familiarize yourself with each category so you can explain it to the students. Each category has six questions worth 100 to 600 points. 100 being super easy and 600 being more difficult. Have a student choose a category and the amount of points to choose the question. Click on the points to bring you to the question. Read the question and the student that raises their hand first gets to answer the question. If they answer correctly they get the specified amount of points. If they get it wrong the other groups have a chance to steal and answer the question. Click on the triangle to take you back to the categories. The questions that have been answered already will change color. Have the student that got the previous question correct pick a new category. (There are no Daily doubles, but if you are familiar with Jeopardy you can add one or two yourself to get the students more competitive and make the activity more interesting.) Make sure to save a few minutes at the end of the activity to total up the points and declare the winner. You can give stamps or stickers to the winners if you would like! |
