On August 9th Fukuoka JET held the orientation for new members joining us this year, and AJET welcomed them all by hosting a dinner party in the city later that evening!
In total, 48 new and current JET members attended an all-you-can-eat and drink buffet at the Tenjin SkyGarden in the heart of the city. There really was a great selection of delicious food and drink which attendees enjoyed while getting to know each other. Stories were shared, plans made and new friendships formed – it was the perfect night to begin a new JET year.
The 50-50 raffle was a great success, with ¥6000 being raised for the AJET Scholarship fund, and the other half going to one lucky winner – and it happened to be their birthday too!
