News Websites in English

English-language newspapers can be found at bookstores and major hotels across the country. You can browse foreign publications for free at Kokusai Hiroba, the Fukuoka City Public Library, and Rainbow Plaza. Authentic English-language materials add spice to classroom activities and English Club sessions. You may find that school English departments or clubs may be interested in purchasing a subscription.

Here are a few English language resources available to you online:

Fukuoka Now
The Asahi Shimbun
The Japan News by the Yomiuri Shimbun
The Japan Times
Japan Today
NHK World

Weather information is also available in English on the Japan Meteorological Agency website, as well as easy to understand Japanese news for those of you who want to challenge your Japanese reading comprehension!
