Description: Originally done as an English club activity, this book is very versatile and can be used across different grades.   3rd Grade: Read the book ‘Ketchup on your cornflakes’ Students answer the questions in the book with ‘Yes, I do/ No I don’t’   In groups, children make their own books. Decide and draw picture for the lower half as a group Each student draws a picture for the top half of the book. – encourage them to use words they know Share original books to other groups Do you like _____? On ______ 4th Grade: Same as above but change the target sentence to ‘Do you want….’   5th Grade: Same as above but change the target sentence to ‘Would you like…?’ Add in writing space opposite the pictures Or You can use the book to practice ‘on/in/under/by’ Or Use this activity solely for writing practice.   If you have time, it is nice for older students to share their books with younger grades.

Materials: Ketchup on Your Cornflakes by Nick Sharratt A4 Coloured card White A3 card (for book cover) A4 White paper Hole punch String/Ribbon or something to tie the cards together to bind the book. Lined paper for writing. How to make the book Cut coloured card and white paper in half Students draw pictures on white paper and glue to card Fold the A3 white card in half Punch one hole through all the card Thread string or ribbon through all the card
