Who are we?
Welcome to Fukuoka JET! We are a JET community located on the island of Kyushu and home to about 125 ALTs and 14 CIRs from many countries: Germany, China, Singapore, United Kingdom, Korea, Canada, United States, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Jamaica, Thailand, Philippines, South Africa, and Trinidad + Tobago.
The JET Programme encourages participants not only to focus on gaining teaching experience in Japan, but also to be cultural exchange ambassadors. As members of the AJET Block 10 group (Oita, Fukuoka, Saga, and Nagasaki), we aim to share our experience and knowledge with our students and the JET community around us and learn from them as well.
Where are we?
Fukuoka Prefecture is located in southern Japan on the island of Kyushu which boasts a myriad of beautiful sights, delicious food, and endless shopping, making it an ideal place to settle down in Japan. Since the Prefecture is closer in proximity to Seoul, Korea than Tokyo, Fukuoka often sees an abundance of international influence in its restaurants, activities, and festivals. It is also home to many great museums, art galleries, and other forms of entertainment. This makes Fukuoka a travel hub for the island of Kyushu and a gateway to other neighboring countries for AJET Block 10 JET community members and expats alike.
