Fukuoka West Goes Strawberry Picking!

Fukuoka West Goes Strawberry Picking!

February 3rd, 2024

Fukuoka is well-known throughout Japan for its strawberries! Have you heard of the famous Amaou variety? Known for their incredible sweetness, juiciness, and large size, these premium strawberries are a local specialty. From December to May, strawberry picking becomes a beloved seasonal tradition, and many Fukuoka JETs eagerly take part in this fun and delicious activity.

Fukuoka West Goes Strawberry Picking! 🍓✨

Rain or shine, nothing can stop Fukuoka West & Friends from a berry sweet adventure! On a drizzly Saturday morning, our group set out to Ike Strawberry Farm, nestled on the outskirts of Fukuoka City. Lucky for us, we were able to hop on a bus and head straight there from Tenjin! Thankfully the farm is fully covered, so we stayed nice and dry while indulging in some of the freshest, juiciest strawberries around!

For a full hour, we enjoyed all-you-can-eat strawberries! Armed with a cup in hand, we roamed through neat rows of vibrant red berries, picking only the ripest and most delicious ones to enjoy. If that wasn’t enough, the farm offered condensed milk and chocolate sauce for those who wanted an extra touch of sweetness.

This all-you-can-eat adventure came at around ~3,000 yen per person, a sweet deal for unlimited strawberries! And for those who just couldn’t get enough, there was an option to take home even more juicy goodness for an extra price.

All in all, it was a great experience filled with sweet treats, and great company! We’re looking forward to coming back again next year!
