It’s quickly approaching the time for our departing Fukuoka JETs to leave for their next adventures, and the Sayonara Party was a wonderful evening for attendees to spend some final moments together in the city. Here’s a recap of Saturday’s events.
On June 22nd, Fukuoka AJET hosted the annual Sayonara Party to say goodbye to leaving JETs and celebrate the end of the working year together. The evening had a great turn out to both the cruise and nijikai!
The party began on the Mariera ship, where food and drinks were enjoyed while taking in all the amazing views as it cruised around Hakata Bay. The spectacular weather provided a beautiful sunset and the perfect atmosphere for a truly stylish ride.
After docking back into port, everyone moved on to continue the merriment in Nakasu. The Nijikai took place at Lee’s Bar, where the kind and dedicated staff were very accommodating to our large party of over 30 JETs and a few locals.
There was exceptional karaoke ranging from Journey to Yoko Takahashi. We also had a surprising amount of popcorn and good drink selection! It was a lot of fun and a good time was had by all.
Thank you to all who joined us for the Sayonara party. We wish our departing JETs the best of luck in the future. You will be missed!
Awesome way to end the JET Year and say goodbye to our friends. Thanks for planning it!
